European Report
The ICCS 2022 European Report was released on Thursday, 22 February at the European Report launch event hosted by INAVALSI and the University of LUMSA  in Rome. The European Report focuses on specific European-related civic and citizenship issues, presenting the results from 18 countries and two benchmarking participants that administered the European student questionnaire. Key findings from the report include:

  • Most eighth-grade students across the European ICCS 2022 participating countries expressed a strong sense of European identity.
  • The majority of students endorsed freedom of movement for citizens of European countries within Europe, although results also suggest considerable support among young people for additional regulations.
  • Students supported cooperation among European countries for the safeguarding of the environment and adopting common policies in Europe.
