Dirk Hastedt presents at the Moscow City of Education Conference

IEA Executive Director, Dr Dirk Hastedt was an invited speaker at the recent Moscow Global Forum, “City for Education” meeting. Now in its third year, the Forum included presentations from over 1000 speakers and was attended by more than 130,000 people. The meeting provides a platform for showcasing and exchanging ideas in education theory, practice and technology with a particular focus on education and skills for the 21st Century.

Dr Hastedt gave a presentation on the importance of soft and cross-subject skills and the insights we can learn from IEA studies including TIMSS, ICCS and ICILS. He was also honored by receiving a formal Charter from the Federal Services for Supervision in Education and Science (Rosobrnadzor) in recognition of his and IEA’s contributions to the Russian system of education quality evaluation.
