Dr Zuwaina Saleh Issa Al-Maskari elected to IEA Standing Committee

IEA is pleased to announce that Dr Zuwaina Saleh Issa Al-Maskari was elected to the IEA Standing Committee at the recent IEA General Assembly Meeting held in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The IEA Standing Committee (SC) consists of the IEA chair and six General Assembly representatives (elected for a three-year term). The committee serves as a board of directors for both IEA and the IEA Secretariat. 

Dr Al-Maskari holds a PhD from the University of Liverpool (UK), a Master's degree from Missouri State University (USA) and a Bachelor degree from the University of Reading (UK). Since 2008, she has held the position of Director General of Educational Evaluation at the Ministry of Education in Oman. Her election received extensive media coverage.

Dr Al-Maskari joins current IEA Standing Committee members: Dr Thierry Rocher (Chair), Dr Christian Christrup Kjeldsen (Denmark), Dr Eva Klemenčič Mirazchiyski (Slovenia), Dr Stephen Provasnik (USA), Dr Hélder Sousa and Dr Sue Thomson (Australia).
